Hello!
I was thinking of changing pick-ups on my Maton MS, but when I bought it having instantly loved it at first sight in the shop, did not really think about the fact that it has got some strangely sized stock pickups.
does anyone know if there are some pickups, maybe humbuckers as long as they are not too mean, that would fit without having to carve out some new room in the body?
Thanks for yer help, as always

Riz, doesn't the Maton MS use P90 -style pickups? There are alternative P90s that can be had.

Edit: It depends on the model number. Some are P90, some PAF type and some Seymour SH4. What's you model number?

well, I'm not shure really.
the model number is ms500, if you check on their site they actually look like p90 but are mounted on some kind om shell made of metal, sort of an oldgretsch style I think, so I was wandering if p90 could be fixed that way too, well, if they would fit basically without having to have some expensive work done...

Riz, I think this may be P90 shaped pups. Purely from memory, there are "dog-eared" P90s and those with straight sides. My guess is that the straight-sided P90s would fit, but it's definitely worth contacting Maton themselves. I think they have a good reputation for responding to owners' enquiries. I just looked at HC to check this, and found some useful info posted recenty on p'up replacement. Have a look:
