I love this one. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Weber-Bias-Tool-for-HIRE-DIY-amp-bias-6L6-El34-KT66_W0QQitemZ7352633095QQcategoryZ10171QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
The guy buys a cheapie for £50 (it's basically an octal socket, a 1ohm resistor and a pair of banana plugs) for £50 and will let you borrow it for a fortnight. Cost to you - £10 + postage. Ahaahaaha, yeah right. He at least has the decency to point one thing out. If you're stupid enough to take up this offer, you're probably stupid enough to frazzle yourself mucking about inside a 450V DC valve amp that's plugged in and running.
Just say 'no' to death-it-yourself and pay for a tech or read up and buy decent tools for the job. |

Oh dear. I've always been a firm believer that if you want fretless it's got to be longscale. What's the point of a fretless shortscale bass? It'll just go THUD.
Mind, having said that, many people think a fretless should have flatwound strings. Why oh why? Absolutely pointless. |

Incidentally, I can't be bothered to flag it up, but there's a right POS circling the Fleeb. A Marshall 1936 ( the so what 2x12 cab)? |
Not so 'so what' if you take out the GT-75's and replace them with a G12m Greenback and a Vintage 30, then it becomes 'Stratospheric'.
You have to stand up for Marshall or they will end up scooting off to China along with everything else in the world. |

A Mustang bass, with (providence unknown) Precision p'up. Look how the pole pieces fall nowhere near the strings. De-fretted, in the most professional job that this 3-rated seller has ever seen Finally a piece of beer-mat under the "A" string at the nut. Starting price of £300 and reserve not met? Why not? |
What a great find, im still laughing now, beer mat under the A string, Electronics have the tendency to 'Hum' ? nut height causing buzzing? this is usualy down to the string buzzing against the frets, but it has none! it must be the lowest cut nut in the history of 'Nut cutting' and you would have to be a nutter to even think about bidding, im watching this one cloely, well done Bass.
And what constitutes a 'Major scratch or Ding' ? this thing would be pulled off the Fender Relicing production line for 'having gone too far'. It's scrached and dinged to buggery, i suppose a major scratch actualy goes through the body and comes out the other side. Classic. |

Nothing wrong with a 1936 cab until somebody sticks a "BIN" of £550 on it because it's got Page/Plant stencilled on the side. I was frankly perturbed by the Superbass head opening wallets all over the world because of the "JHE" stencil, but a Page/Plant 1936 as used by the hurdy-gurdy player's roadtech?
Another funny on that £21 cab in red; the update "actually, the other speaker is an H-H, not EV as previously stated..." has a slight effect on the bidding, that late erratum.
Finally, if prisoners have suddenly taken up old-'phone carving instead of making chesspieces from soapstone and alabaster, I wish they'd look at some library pics. "Shall we call it a Strat? Yeah, Strat... That's a guitar isn't it?" |
