| Phew, glad to hear it about DG. Not getting into (again) a Queen argue, but I thought Green Day did well for Berlin. Anything of the other G8 gigs? I'm quite partial to Zuccherro (*excuse my lousy Italian) but didn't see much of Paris, Rome, Tokyo etc. Any viewers chiming in? |

Can't say i saw any of those guitars, I did hear though that Pink Floyd were offered $100 million to get back together for a tour of the states and they turned it down, they said they didnt need the money, ummm, maybe Africa could do with a little? they could have toured, donated the lot, and gone up 10 notches in everyones expectations, and they could have had a great time too, anyone that saw them play London could see they were well into that set, big smiles all round.
Gilmour is a fantastic player, the band are monumental and it seems a real shame to box that up over past fall outs and squabbles. |

| Joss Stone's guitarist played one of the Africa guitars on one song, but the camera never zoomed in on it, so we didn't get a good look at it. |

TBF 2 PF, as soon as the sudden increase in sales from Floyd's back-catalogue became apparent following the gig, they pledged the royalties to Live 8. Bet that was a shock to Kaiser Chiefs; whose "We'll do Philly, to be broadcast immediately after Hyde Park" smacked of less-than-altruism. Also, I read elsewhere that DG was asked to support a charity for London's homeless. His response was, "Well, I've got a place I don't really use" so he sold it for 6 million+ and punted them the cheque.
No speech, no headlines, but pretty , , of him to do so. |
