My mother has a C.F. Martin guitar that dates around 1860. She is trying to get it appraised for insurance purposes. Who should she contact to get it appraised? We live in a small town in Louisiana and do not have access to anyone who could help us.

for something like that you should realy get it done on-line or take it to a store, you sound somewhat remote so maybe an online service would help, try : http://www.guitarshelter.com/appraise.htm
it costs $25.
Good luck.
